The gift card giving feature. How it works

The Gift card giving feature is available for all BirthdayBot users, enabling teammates to contribute to a group gift card.

Upon receiving a notice from the bot, a birthday person will be informed that their team members would be suggested to chip in to the group gift card.

If a birthday person doesn't hit the "No, thanks!" button, the bot assumes they have considered to receive a gift card, and will invite other team members to contribute to it when sending a birthday reminder.

The bot sends a gift card to the birthday person within 7 hours of posting congratulations in the channel, as long as it's not later than 7pm of the celebrant time zone. Otherwise, the celebrant will get the gift card the following day at 9am.

BirthdayBot admins can disable the gift card giving feature in the channel settings:

1. open the bot in Slack
2. find the Celebration channels section
3. use a drop-down to select the right channel
4. hit Channel settings
5. Gift Cards
6. Disable

Gift cards purchased through our service are non-refundable. Once a gift card has been issued, it cannot be returned, exchanged, or refunded. We recommend carefully selecting the recipient, the country where the recipient is, and the amount before finalizing your purchase.
