Let's add the bot to your Slack workspace and spend a couple of minutes to set everything up, and you'll never miss your teammates' birthday or anniversary.
You can add the bot to Slack if you click the relevant button either on our website or in the Slack app directory. After that, grant the bot a sprinkle of permissions to do its job…
…and you're done! The bot will reach out to you immediately on the Messages tab.
Hit "Setup Celebration Channel" and select a channel where you want to celebrate together. Larger teams should consider that employees might be overwhelmed by the amount of info if you add the bot to the company wide channel. So we recommend focusing on a smaller group like a team channel where people can use the reminder feature to make birthdays/ anniversaries more engaging.
Once you hit "Start", the bot will post an intro message in the selected channel and will offer everyone on the channel to add their birthday.
As a person who started the channel, you can populate birthdays for your team by clicking the Import from file button.
You can upload birthdays with the help of an Excel or CSV file or provide a link to your Google sheet.
In case you don't have a file ready to upload, you can download a template generated by the bot. The template will only list people with missing birthdays, allowing you to fill it out and upload it back.
By default, the bot posts congratulations in the channel at 11 am. You can adjust the time in the Workspace settings.
