BirthdayBot will help you remember your teammates' birthdays and will make sure your colleagues feel valued when their birthdays come.
When adding BirthdayBot to your workspace, you'll be offered to set up a channel where the bot will post congratulation messages. So once invited to the channel, BirthdayBot will automatically create a team including all the members from the selected channel.
No worries if you missed the step of choosing a channel. There're two more ways you can create a new team.
1. BirthayBot will send you a private greeting message offering you to learn more about teams once you hit the corresponding button.
This will take you to a new modal window with a chance to create a new team.
2. Let's find BirthdayBot in the Slack Apps section and make sure you're on the Messages tab. Click the lightning bolt icon to the left of the message field to find Create birthday team.
Either way you go, a new window will pop up asking you to type the name of BirthdayBot team and specify the channel where the bot will post a birthday card.
Once you fill out the fields, click the Next button, and decide whether you want BirthdayBot to send a welcome message to the dedicated channel, and to collect your teammates' birth dates.
Hit the Save button to finish the process of setting up the team.
