The option of mute installation is pretty helpful when you want to reinstall the app quietly and don't want the bot to announce itself again in the channel it has been assigned to as everyone is already familiar with BirthdayBot and knows what it is for. So it's quite reasonable to disable the welcome message.
When adding the bot to your workspace from the Slack app directory, it asks to select a channel where members will celebrate their birthdays. Let's skip this step, otherwise, the welcome message will pop up in the channel.
Once added, you'll see a private greeting message from BirthdayBot. Please hit the Start button to proceed.
A new window will pop up showing intro info and some tips - please, go through them thoroughly and click the Continue.
This will bring you to a new form asking to type in the name of your BirthdayBot team and specify the channel where the bot will post a birthday card.
Once you fill out the form above, click the Next button, and make sure there's no check mark in the Send welcome message box.
